They had a scuffle over ₹100, say police

Two persons sustained injuries after they fell from an under-construction building in south-east Delhi’s Okhla Industrial area on January 12, the police said on Monday.

Under alcohol influence

The two men, who were drinking at that time, had got into a scuffle over ₹100, they said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal said three persons, Sunil, Pramod and their uncle Hareram, all labourers from Madhya Pradesh, work at the construction site.

Sunil allegedly told the police that during the drinking session, Hareram was going to use the washroom when Pramod asked him for ₹100 to buy more alcohol.

The duo got into an argument following this, which turned violent when Hareram refused to give him money. During the scuffle, both of them fell into the basement from the ground floor.

“Both them sustained injuries as there were metal sheets lying around. Hareram was severely injured. Pramod fled the spot,” said a senior officer.

Case registered

Sunil rushed his uncle to the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences , where he is undergoing treatment. Hareram is out of danger, the police said.

They have registered a case under section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the IPC and are looking for Pramod.
