Traffic on several arterial roads in Central Delhi is likely to be hit on Saturday due to road diversions put in place by the Delhi Traffic Police in view of the massive public rally being organised by the BJP at Ramlila Maidan.

Traffic congestion is expected on roads leading to Connaught Place, JLN Marg, Rajghat, Mandi House, Delhi Gate, Asaf Ali Marg, Netaji Subash Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Bara Khamba Road, Parliament Street, Sikandra Road and Ashoka Road among others. Parking will be allowed at restricted places including Underground Parking at Civic Centre, on Tagore Road, Mata Sundri Roa and on footpath of JLN Marg opposite Ramlila Maidan.

Moreover, no vehicle will be allowed to pass through three major roads: Jawaharlal Nehru Marg from Delhi Gate towards Ramlila Maidan, Ranjit Singh Marg from Barakhamba Road to Ramlila Maidan and Aruna Asaf Ali Road from Ajmeri Gate towards Ramlila Maidan.

“Those going to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway station, and ISBT should leave in advance. The public is advised to make maximum use of public transport, especially Delhi Metro,” said a senior police officer.
