‘Traders will support AAP’s Brijesh Goyal’

With sealing being a major poll issue in the Capital, several traders rallied behind Aam Aadmi Party candidate Brijesh Goyal who filed his nomination on Monday.

Mr. Goyal, also the head of AAP’s trade wing, said, “There is a wave of change as the BJP government has not done anything for the people of Delhi despite winning all seven seats in 2014. Sealing is a major issue as traders are unhappy with no action from the government to curb sealing. There is widespread unemployment among the youth and safety of women is also a concern.”

Amarpal Singh, district president of AAP’s trade wing said, “Traders have been hassled to a great extent due to sealing and despite that, no MP raised the issue in the Parliament. Recently, there was a similar incident in Mayapuri. While traders might have supported BJP, this time their voices will rise during the elections.”

“Mr. Goyal is a traders’ leader and will be the voice for traders in Delhi,” said Mr. Singh.

On being asked about contesting from the New Delhi constituency with respect to contenders like Ajay Maken from Congress, Mr. Goyal said, “There is hardly any fight with him. Earlier he had said he will not fight elections if there is no alliance but now he is. The people of Delhi know that the Congress party has no existence in the Capital and they will vote accordingly.”
