The Delhi Police arrested three members of the notorious Gangwal gang from south-east Delhi’s Garhi Gaon on Thursday.
Ravi Gangwal, Sunny alias Arun Sharma and Nakul alias Rohit were nabbed near Iskon temple, when they were passing by in a car.
“Constable Babu Lal spotted the accused and asked them to stop. The accused, however, drove past him, after which the police started chasing them,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) Romil Baaniya.

The police caught up with the accused around a 100 yards away and forced them to step out of the car. However, Ravi took out his pistol and threatened to fire at the police party.
Mr. Lal managed to snatch the weapon from him while the other two were nabbed.

Weapons seized

Knives, a Turkey-made sophisticated pistol and eight live cartridges were seized from the accused.
The police have registered a case under Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharging his duties), 353 (assault) and 34 (common intention) of IPC and under the Arms Act.
The police said Ravi was the gang leader and had ommitted several murders. Around 10 criminal cases are allegedly registered against him.
