A teenager was beaten to death allegedly by three boys, including two minors, in a jhuggi-jhonpri colony in Kanjhawala here on Friday. The two minors have been apprehended and their teenaged accomplice arrested.
Eighteen-year-old Sumit was standing near a devijagran pandal in Sawda jhuggi-jhonpri colony around 9-30 p.m. when Mahender (19) along with his two minor accomplices reached there and attacked him. “The three slapped Sumit and then pushed him to the ground. The trio then kicked and punched him. A little later, Mithun, a resident of Block M, came rushing and slapped Mahender and his two friends, who then left,” said eye-witness Rohit, who is a complainant in the case.
Rohit lifted Sumit and rushed him to a nearby clinic, where he was asked to instead rush to a hospital. Rohit then made a call to the Police Control Room. Meanwhile, Sumit’s father reached the clinic and took him to a hospital in his friend’s car. But Sumit was declared brought dead at hospital.

Later, Mahender was arrested and his two minor accomplices were apprehended.
Mahender had an altercation with Sumit’s younger brother at school a few days ago and was looking for an opportunity to take revenge, the police said.
