The Monsoon session of Delhi Assembly got off to a stormy start today with opposition BJP forcing adjournment of House demanding a discussion on CAG report which indicted Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Delhi Government for alleged irregularities in certain CWG projects.
Soon after the House assembled, Leader of Opposition V.K. Malhotra demanded taking up discussion on Comptroller and Auditor General’s report into the irregularities skipping the Question Hour, drawing strong reaction from the treasury bench.
Unrelenting BJP MLAs kept on demanding a discussion on the report and trouped into the Well of the House. Speaker Yoganand Shastri adjourned the House twice for 30 minutes each as pandemonium prevailed.

Mr. Shastri said the report cannot be discussed in the House as it is being examined by Public Accounts Committee of Parliament. On demands for discussion by some BJP MLAs on Shunglu Committee findings, he said the report is being examined by a Group of Minister (GoM).
The Speaker adjourned the House for the day when it met again after slogan-shouting BJP MLAs again trouped to the well and waved leaflets insisting on their demand.
Later speaking to reporters, Ms. Dikshit slammed the BJP for not allowing the House to function and said the CAG report cannot be discussed in the Assembly as it was being examined by Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.

“Where is the corruption? There is no corruption. Even the CAG has said that the Chief Minister has not been indicted. Whether it is CAG or Shunglu committee, these are cases of implied corruption,” she said.
