Scottish man arrested for allegedly raping woman in South Delhi

A 40-year-old Scottish national, the manager of a fitness centre, has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in South Delhi's Defence Colony.

The accused was produced before a duty magistrate on Sunday which sent him to judicial custody for 14 days, said sources.

It is learnt that the victim, a 30-year-old event management professional, approached the police with a complaint on Saturday. Based on her statement, a case under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code was registered. A Police team then arrested the accused from his residence.

Sources further added that the man has been living in India for the past decade.
