Rs.155 crore okayed for water supply to IMT, Manesar

The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs.155.65 crore to augment potable water supply to the sprawling Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Manesar.

The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation (HSIIDC) will soon start water supply projects at IMT, Manesar.

Sanjeev Kaushal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and chairman of the corporation, said that the decision was taken in a meeting of the board of directors of HSIIDC held recently.

Mr. Kaushal said that the corporation has decided to refurbish the existing infrastructure of water supply at IMT, Manesar, which is considered the show window of HSIIDC.

Work on the augmentation of existing water supply would soon be executed after the release of the loan amount.

Mr. Kaushal said IMT, Manesar, was the flagship industrial park of Haryana and a show window for rest of the world with regard to its international infrastructure.

Among the companies that have plants here are: Denso, Johnson Mathey, Napino Auto, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters, Norcool, Baxter, Mitsubishi, Stanley, Munjal Showa, NTF, Machino TSK Nippon, Automotive Research Association, Pricol, Nagata India, Yamuna NHK, Sunbeam Steel, Toyota Kirloskar, Suzuki Metal India Samsung and Standard Diagnostic Inc.

Six hundred acres have also been allotted to Maruti Udyog Limited for the expansion of its existing project. In order to meet the growing demand of investors, additional land has been acquired for the township.

The HSIIDC is also developing a technology park at IMT, spanning an area of around 140 acres under the campus development norms. The corporation has already allotted land to prominent companies for setting up projects in this park. Among the prominent are Agilent Technologies, HCL Techno parks, Shapoorji Pallonji and Primrose Projects Pvt. Ltd. (Bharti Group). The technology park is likely to generate direct employment opportunities for trained professionals and also create indirect employment opportunities.
