With Union Tourism and Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma being allotted the bungalow once occupied by former President APJ Abdul Kalam, a row has been created slamming the move.
The decision has been criticised by the Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi government, which suggested that the former President's official residence should be converted into a 'Knowledge Centre' instead. An online petition has also been started slamming the 'insult' to the former President, which has already been signed by more than 1,000 people online.
Kalam was staying at 10 Rajaji Marg residence in Lutyen's zone after his term as President ended in 2007 and the bungalow has now been allotted to Mr. Sharma.

“I have been allocated 10 Rajaji Marg by the Urban Development Ministry and I have accepted the offer,” Sharma, who has been staying at his private residence in Sector 15, Noida on Delhi's outskirts, told news agencies.
