Registration of land deeds in regularised colonies soon

Registration of land and sale-purchase deeds in 320 authorised colonies out of 895 colonies regularised recently by the Delhi Government will be permitted soon. The order that will benefit lakhs of people living in the regularised colonies was announced on Wednesday after Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit reviewed the functioning of the task force constituted to deal with the issues related to the recently regularised colonies.

The orders in respect of these 320 colonies that have come up on private land will be issued soon, said Delhi Government officials.

Ms. Dikshit instructed the task force to expedite the issue of regularisation of the remaining 570 colonies. It has been decided that colonies that have come up on gram sabha land will be processed expeditiously for regularisation and the residents of these colonies will also be able to get their land, sale and purchase deed registered soon.

Officials said the process of regularisation of the remaining colonies will be completed by January 2013.

The Chief Minister also instructed the three municipal corporations to expedite the finalisation of lay out plans in respect of 895 regularised colonies. This work is to be completed by December 31 this year.

“The State Government has directed the civic bodies to engage specialised agencies for this purpose. The expenses of engaging such agencies will be borne by the city government,” said an official.

The Corporations have also been asked to strengthen the sanitation and cleanliness efforts in all 895 recently authorised colonies and deploy additional sanitation staff by engaging them on muster roll.
