Absence of any eyewitness has put a spanner into Noida Police’s efforts to establish the correct sequence in the suicide of senior Delhi Police officer Amit Singh and the attempted suicide of his wife Sarita.
With Sarita battling for life, it may take a while, said senior police officers. Mr. Singh, an Assistant Commissioner of Police posted with the Delhi Police Special Cell, allegedly shot himself at his fourth floor apartment in Sector 100’s Lotus Boulevard on Monday night. The only other person present in the house was the couple’s two-year-old daughter.
In such a situation, investigators are facing hurdles to corroborate their initial suspicion of the incident being the fallout of marital discord.

It is learnt that with family members of Mr. Singh purportedly denying any marital discord.
Around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, a joint team of Delhi and Noida Police officers, including Special Cell Joint Commissioner Vivek Gogia and Additional DCP Manishi Chandra, visited the crime scene and inspected it. The team stayed at the residence for nearly four hours before leaving at 5 a.m
