A day after actress Leena Maria Paul was arrested along with four bouncers in South Delhi for her alleged involvement in a cheating case, the police are still looking for her friend and a co-accused in the case, Balaji.

While the actress and others were arrested near Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj, Balaji had managed to escape. The police are trying to ascertain whether the two, who were living in a farmhouse in Asola had other accomplices as well.

Balaji introduced himself as an Indian Administrative Officer to secure huge investments for projects. Claiming to be well connected politically, he allegedly lured investors to pump in funds for his projects. He along with Leena had cheated a Canara Bank branch in Chennai which sanctioned a loan amounting to Rs. 19 crore and later decamped with the money.

A case was then registered in Chennai and a Chennai police team contacted the anti auto-theft squad of the South Delhi police seeking assistance in tracing the duo.

The joint team identified the farmhouse at Asola village in Outer Delhi where the two were living paying a hefty rent of Rs. 4 lakh a month. Several cars were also seized.
