The power demand in the Capital touched 5,528 MW on Wednesday evening, making it the season’s highest. The peak power demand is expected to reach 6,000 MW this year, surpassing the all-time high of 5,653 MW recorded last year.
The BSES discoms claimed here that they were providing “stable and quality power supply” in their areas of operation.
However, they said, their efforts at times get constrained due to certain external factors beyond their control.

The heavy thunderstorm of May 30 had caused large-scale disruption of power in large parts of Delhi.
A BSES release said power was restored quickly to the extent possible following combined efforts of Delhi Transco Limited and other distribution companies.

While most of the upstream constraints have been addressed, the release said the situation would normalise in the coming days.
Rotational load shedding is being carried out within the given constraints and the daily outage bulletin uploaded on the BSES website.
The release stated that the BSES discoms had taken several proactive steps to minimise inconvenience to consumers.
They include deployment of mobile patrolling teams, augmentation of call centre operations by about 60 per cent, revival of sub-transmission links, appointment of customer advisors and peak hour monitoring.
