Noida man kills sister

September 16, 2017 01:06 am | Updated 01:06 am IST - Noida

In a suspected case of honour killing, a man allegedly murdered his sister last month in Barola village and then blamed her death on braid-chopping incidents, rumours of which were rife at that time. Salman (25) suffocated Salma (19) using a pillow after a fight on August 18, the police said.

The siblings lived in Barola while their parents live in Amroha.

Salma was allegedly seeing someone he disliked, said the police.

“The sibling got into a fight on August 18 and Salman killed her. He then took the body to Amroha,” the police said. He tried to pass off the death as a result of a braid-chopping incident, but the neighbours grew suspicious and informed the police.

The body was sent for post-mortem, which revealed suffocation as the cause of death. Amroha police registered a case and he was sent to judicial custody. The Noida police has taken him for interrogation on transit remand.
