16-year-old says achieved feat without taking private tuition

Class XI student Yash Bhatkar has made Noida proud by scoring 800/800 in Maths and 790/800 in Physics in the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) — a standardised test widely used for undergraduate college admissions in the United States. And that’s not all, Yash claims to have done this without taking any extra tuitions.

Talking to The Hindu , the 16-year-old said that he never believed in the concept of private tuition. “In all my life I never took private tuition and similarly I don’t wish to take it in future as well,” Yash said. With the high SAT scores, Yash has the chance to be accepted by many reputed colleges such as Stanford, Caltech and Harvard.

Born to software engineer and entrepreneur Tushaar Bhatkar and homemaker Sarika Bhatkar, Yash gave credit to his parents for his extraordinary performance: “My father always taught me maths that was two or three standards higher than my class.”

Yash is a student of Alliance World School Sector 56 of Noida. He has younger a brother Jeet. The family hails from Maharashtra.
