No tolerance for unethical actions: IMA

Published - April 05, 2017 12:55 am IST - New Delhi

There will be zero tolerance for members found receiving cuts or commissions from institutions or pharmaceutical companies, Indian Medical Association (IMA) president Dr. K. K. Aggarwal said after a state leadership meeting of the association.

Dr. Aggarwal said that if any member is found to indulge in such malpractices, the IMA will not stand with the member at the time of action by any appropriate authority. The IMA also appreciated the ‘no incentive’ schemes started in Telengana, Kerala, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. “Others are requested to issue the same directions to their members,” the IMA said.

A similar decision was taken in the national meet of the State Medical Council, held on March 25 & 26.
