The Delhi Police on Friday night said that they had no plans to seal the city borders, but they are keeping a close watch on the area in the outskirts following sporadic violence in different parts of the Capital after the rape conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief.
“We have no plans to restrict passenger movement, but extra deployments have been made at the border areaa and we will keep an eye on those entering the city to see if they are planning to organise and assemble, which won’t be allowed because of prohibitory orders in place,” said Delhi Police spokesperson Madhur Verma.
Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in 11 of the 13 police districts barring north and central Delhi, said Mr. Verma.

Scattered incidents
The incidents of violence till now have been scattered and there is no common point where the gathering is huge.
On police’s preparations to prevent such incidents, Mr. Verma said that vigil has been stepped up in all areas and in the intervening night between Friday and Saturday, the senior officers will themselves be out on patrol in all the districts.

“We are monitoring the situation closely. So far, we have arrested five persons. These prohibitory orders will be in place till further direction, and we will assess the situation and review if need be. Keeping in view the violence in Punjab and Haryana, we expect people to cooperate,” said Mr. Verma.
Delhi Metro
Meanwhile, the CISF also stepped up vigil at Delhi metro stations in the National Capital Region and is carrying out intensive security drills at locations that border or fall in Haryana and UP.
In a statement, the DMRC said that because of an advisory by the CISF, the Samaypur Badli metro station was closed from 9.20 p.m. to 9.38 p.m. Rest of the stations were operating normally.
