Two days after a businessman went missing from Greater Kailash-III here on Friday, the police are still groping in the dark in the absence of any clues to the case.
“Several teams are on the job but there is no breakthrough yet. It seems to be a case of kidnapping. But the family has not received any ransom call so far,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (South-East) Ajay Chaudhry.
Fifty-five-year-old builder Vinod Bansal left his Masjid Moth residence for Sarita Vihar in a Toyota Corolla on some personal work at 9 p.m. on Friday and went missing. His son Ankur, who helps his father in the construction business, tried to contact him on his mobile phone a few hours later but found it switched off. When Mr. Bansal could not be traced for a long time, the family lodged a complaint with the Chittranjan Park police.

A police patrolling team of Uttar Pradesh found his car abandoned near Kailash Hospital at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida in the early hours of Saturday and informed the family. The ignition key was found inside the car. The police are now scrutinising the closed-circuit television camera footage at Kailash Hospital for any clue.
Sources said that employees, friends and relatives of the businessman were being questioned and his mobile phone details are also being scrutinised to ascertain the details of those with whom he had been in touch in the past few days. The police are also investigating the case from the angle of business rivalry.
The Bansals are into real estate business and have constructed several residential complexes in East and North-East Delhi. When contacted the family refused to divulge any information on the plea that it would hamper investigations. However, they have furnished to the police the names of people who could be potential suspects.
