Two persons, including a 25-year-old man of Nigerian origin, have been arrested for alleged drug trafficking, the police said on Tuesday.

According to the police, 42.5 gram of fine quality cocaine and 30 tablets of popular party drug ecstasy were recovered from their possession.

Identified as Nwankwo Okechukwn Sylvester and Simranjeet Singh, the duo was nabbed with the narcotics near Ramesh Nagar, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime).

Nwankwo’s Indian visa was also found to be fake. He was held over information that Nigerian national ‘John’ lives near Janakpuri East metro station and supplies cocaine in the Capital.

“We were informed that he would deliver a consignment near the Ramesh Nagar metro station late on Friday. The customer was to travel in a Maruti SX4 car,” said Mr. Yadav.

A police team reached the Ramesh Nagar metro station and noticed an African national waiting on the roadside. The customer also reached there in about 15 minutes. Nwankwo and East Patel Nagar resident Simranjeet were nabbed when they were conducting the deal.
