The Capital's run with the pleasant monsoon weather continued with rain lashing the city again on Sunday and bringing down the temperature further. At the same time it brought along with it the familiar problems of water-logging and traffic jams.
The Meteorological Department recorded a total of 3 mm of rainfall till 5-30 p.m. on Sunday. While the maximum temperature settled two degrees below normal at 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature stood at 26.6 degrees Celsius.
Several parts of the city were flooded with rain water paralysing vehicular movement and affecting pedestrians alike. Areas such as the Kishanganj underpass were worst affected with the water level nearly drowning vehicles on the stretch.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi's central control room received a total of 51 complaints of water-logging from across its 12 zones till 3 p.m. on Sunday. In addition, the control room also received eight complaints of tree falling and two complaints of fallen building parts.
Areas affected by water-logging included Town Hall near Hanuman Mandir, Kamla Market Chowk, Sita Ram Bazaar, Darya Ganj, Minto Road to Ranjit Singh flyover, Nizamuddin, Malkaganj, Batra Cinema Mukherjee Nagar, Timarpur, Anand Parbat, T-point Loha Mandi Naraina, Durga Vihar Phase I, Shalimar Bagh, Pitampura, Wazirpur Industrial Area, Ashok Vihar Phase-I, Lawrence Road underpass, Haiderpur T-point, Sector-17, Sector-11 and Sector-5 of Rohini, Prem Nagar, under Azad Market flyover, Sadar Baazar, Jhandewalan Cycle Market, Karawal Nagar, Kabir Nagar, Yamuna Vihar, Geeta Colony, Ghazipur, Kondli, Aurbindo Marg, R.K. Puram Sector-2, Priya Complex Vasant Vihar, Neb Sarai, Vasant kunj and under Zakhira flyover.
The Delhi Traffic Police also received complaints of slow traffic movement from areas including Dhaula Kuan to Palam Airport, Dabri Mor, Anand Parbat and Azadpur to Shalimar Bagh. Traffic congestion also worsened further due to several vehicles including buses breaking down and stalling traffic.

The weatherman has forecast a partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershower in some areas on Monday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 35 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively. “As this is the monsoon season, there would be no let up in rainfall in the Capital anytime soon and it would continue raining in the coming week as well with varying intensity,” he added.
