Minor’s parents thrash 20-year-old man

After he eloped with the 13-year-old

A 20-year-old man was allegedly thrashed by the family members of a 13-year-old girl with whom he was in a relationship, the police said on Tuesday.

The incident was reported on Sunday in Dwarka’s Bindapur, they said.

Hari Om, a driver, allegedly told the police that the minor and he had fled to a friend’s rented flat in a DDA complex in the area on September 15.

Father alleges kindap

Meanwhile, the girl’s parents lodged a complaint at Dabri police station alleging that she had been kidnapped.

Her father said that she was kidnapped around 4 a.m. from outside their residence.

“We told the police that Hari Om kidnapped her. He denied his involvement during the questioning. After this, he was let off,” the father alleged.

The girl’s family was then allegedly approached by Hari Om’s friend “who got scared” and told them that she was at his flat.

Following this, the father along with other family members went to the flat. On the small hours of Sunday, he made a PCR call stating that Hari Om was drunk and lying unconscious, the police said.

Hari was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital from where his family members shifted him to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital.

‘Was poisoned’

On Tuesday, he allegedly told police that he was thrashed by the girl’s family members and then poisoned.

“His medical examination has been conducted. Prima facie no poison has not been found. However, there are visible injuries on his body. The report is still awaited,” said a senior police officer.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said that a case on charges of attempt to commit culpable homicide has been registered and investigation is under way.
