He was also in favour of continuous updates related to traffic and congestion to the general public over the radio and through social media. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary (PWD), Special CP (Traffic), Engineer-in-Chief (PWD), and Dr. S. Velumurugan, senior principal scientist at the Central Road Research Institute.

“The L-G was informed that a 4.7-km stretch of Ring Road from Shanti Van to Chandgi Ram Akhara sees heavy traffic and pedestrian movement, especially near the Old Hanuman Temple, Yamuna Bazar, Maharana Pratap ISBT and opposite the Monastery Market,” read the statement. He was also apprised about the bottleneck and traffic merging points, reasons for congestion, road engineering defects and proposed remedial measures.

The L-G directed all concerned agencies to study the remedial measures suggested by Dr. Velumurugan and revert with those found feasible for implementation.
