A quarrel over parking space turned ugly after 30-year-old Raja Raheja was stabbed in the neck by his neighbour Harmeet Singh in north-west Delhi’s Bharat Nagar late on August 4, the police said on Sunday.
Minor son’s role
While the victim claimed that Mr. Singh’s minor son was the one who stabbed him, the sister of the accused alleged that Mr. Raheja had barged into their house and misbehaved with them.

The police have registered cross FIRs on complaints by Mr. Singh’s sister and the victim.
The victim was discharged after first aid.
The police said the incident happened around 10 p.m. when Mr. Raheja, who resides on the ground floor, went to Mr. Singh’s house on the first floor. He asked Mr. Singh to move his car, which parked in front of his house.

Cases registered
An argument ensued, following which Mr. Singh refused to move his car.
The argument turned violent, and Mr. Singh got a knife from the kitchen and attacked him.
A case under Section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) has been registered based on Mr. Raheja’s complaint, while a case under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty and trespass) has been registered on a complaint by Mr. Singh’s sister.
Investigation so far has revealed that Mr. Singh was drunk at the time of the incident and attacked Mr. Raheja in a fit of rage.
Neighbours and locals claimed Mr. Singh would often get drunk and pick up fights in the colony. The police are verifying the allegations made by both parties.
