“On Tuesday morning, Gautam asked his wife Manju for breakfast. As she was busy with other household chores it took her sometime to prepare breakfast. Agitated over the delay, he entered the kitchen and stabbed her on the neck and back,” said a police officer.

“When she fell unconscious, the accused got scared. He then dragged her body to the terrace as he wanted to throw it from the first floor of the building to make it look like a suicide case,” the officer added.

The neighbours who heard the commotion rushed to the spot and prevented him from doing so. One of the neighbours then made a PCR call and Manju was rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. The police immediately arrested Gautam.
