Man hangs self at RML Hospital

He was recently diagnosed with cancer during a check-up

A 48-year-old cancer patient undergoing treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital hanged himself in a bathroom at the hospital on Friday morning.

The police suspect that the deceased was depressed after being recently diagnosed with cancer during a check-up for kidney stone operation.

Hariram Yadav, from Siwan district in Bihar, was staying in Gurugram with his relative.

He had come to the hospital for treatment of kidney stone. During the treatment, his medical reports detected signs of cancer.

The police said Hariram was upset after he was informed about the cancer.

“His relatives were in the ward when he went the to bathroom, where he hanged himself with a bed sheet. Another patient who went to bathroom found him hanging and alerted hospital staff,” said a police officer.

The hospital authorities informed the police about the incident at 6.30 a.m.

“A case has been registered at North Avenue police station. The body has been handed over to his family members after post-mortem. We will talk to the family members to figure out the reason for the suicide,” added the officer.
