The family of a 29-year-old who allegedly fell from the 14th floor of a building here on December 11 has accused her husband and in-laws of dowry death. No arrests have been made so far since the accused are on the run, the police said.

Aarti Kumari’s family has filed a case of dowry death against her husband Vivek Kumar and brother-in-law Vinit, who lived with the couple in their rented accommodation in Greater Noida West’s Ecovillage. Vivek, Vinit, their parents and aunt have been booked in connection with her death. Aarti and Vivek got married in July 2013.

Her brother Abhimanyu said, “Everything was fine till 2015, when they shifted to Greater Noida. Vivek and her in-laws started harassing her for dowry and fled after the December 11 incident. They told us on December 12 that Aarti had jumped from her house following an argument with Vivek and Vinit.”
