Around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Bahadur had gone to parcel his dinner at the dhaba that he had been frequenting for 35 years. The Owner of the dhaba alleged that he was drunk at the time of the incident and, abused and attacked two workers — Raju and Manoj. “He came to the dhaba very drunk and could barely walk. He asked Raju to parcel his dinner before anyone else’s. He then started abusing him and Manoj. But when Bahadur hit Manoj, Raju slapped him and forced him to sit,” said the woman who owns the eatery. She said Bahadur was made to sit at a shop a little away from the eatery when he suddenly collapsed.
‘Victim never drunk’
Bahadur’s employer Shyam Sunder Aggarwal said “it is unbelievable he was intoxicated”. “He has worked here for 25 years and hasn’t ever reported drunk,” he said.

The police said no CCTV footage was available and that the workers beat up the victim, leading to internal injuries. A police officer said that they have begun probe but the cause of death will only be confirmed after autopsy. A case has been registered under section 302 (punishment for murder) and the two workers are being questioned.
