Man attacked for‘eyeing’ 26-year-old

3 attackers, the woman’s kin, held

A 38-year-old man’s throat was slit allegedly by the family members of a woman whom he was allegedly pursuing in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar. Three persons, including a woman were arrested on Wednesday evening, said the police.

Additional DCP (Outer) Rajender Singh Sagar said that the accused have been identified as Beena alias Jully, Lal Bahadur, and Amit. They allegedly attempted to kill Bhagwan Singh, a resident of Aligarh, on Monday and later threw him near the railway tracks.

The police said they received a PCR call on Monday regarding an injured person lying near the tracks. They reached the spot and rushed him to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

After gaining consciousness, Mr. Singh told the police that he was attacked by Ms. Beena and her son Tarun at their residence.

One absconding

During investigation, the police found out that after slitting his throat, Lal Bahadur and Amit dumped him near the tracks. “Raids were conducted and three of them have been arrested while Tarun is absconding,” Mr. Sagar said.

The accused said that Mr. Singh “had a bad eye” on Ms. Beena’s 26-year-old daughter and they had asked him to stay away, but he did not listen.
