A 26-year-old man was arrested by the Delhi Police on Saturday for allegedly strangulating the brother of his wife’s paramour in revenge on May 24. He allegedly told the police that his brother Deepak was also involved in the murder. The police are on the lookout for him.
Body found
Pradeep alias Monu was furious with deceased Marshal Singh’s brother Arjun Singh for running away with his wife Pooja in November 2015. This, he allegedly told the police, was reason why he killed the brother and dumped his body in Dwarka. The police patrolling staff found the body in the early hours of Thursday. Clueless about the identity of the victim at the time the body was found, all police station in the area were alerted and asked to check their missing persons’ records.

Ajun had filed a missing complaint regarding his brother at Ranhola police station on May 26. The description given by him matched that of the body and the victim was identified. However, neither Arjun nor the police could find a reason behind the murder.
“He told us that his brother worked as caterer and had no enemies as he was a very loving person,” said DCP (south-west) Surender Kumar.
Probe revealed that Arjun was in a relationship with Pradeep’s wife and that they had run away in 2015. Though Arjun and Pooja returned, the accused nursed a grudge against Arjun.

Bloody clothes
Arjun told the police that Pooja had called him around 2 a.m. on May 25 to enquire if he was fine as her husband had come home drunk and his clothes were covered in blood. The police apprehended Pradeep for questioning. He initially lied about his whereabouts on May 24 but confessed following sustained interrogation.
“He revealed that he punched the victim in the face several times till the latter’s nose started bleeding. Then, Deepak and he strangulated the victim using a leather belt,” said Mr Kumar.
The police have registered a case.
