FIR lodged; accused nabbed from home

A 26-year-old man has alleged that he was sexually assaulted by another man in a party organised at Palam Village in south Delhi, the police said on Thursday. The party was attended by men who had met on a popular social networking app for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people.

The police said the victim, who works in a private company, had registered a complaint against a 57-year-old man for sexually assaulting him on Tuesday where he had gone to the party with other acquaintances. The victim was taken for medical examination and an FIR was registered at Palam Village police station.

During investigation, it was found that the victim had come to know one of the hosts of the party on a gay dating mobile application. He had a chat with the man and he was invited to the party organised exclusively for people with the same sexual orientation.

“At the party, after the people had drinks, the couples started getting intimate. The victim who was with his partner was approached by another man. By the time the guests left, the victim was in an inebriated state. The man forced himself upon him and sexually assaulted him,” said a police officer.

The next morning when the victim woke up, he realised that he had been sexually assaulted. He raised the matter with the host and his match, but they did not offer any help. He then went to the police station to report the matter.
