Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Saturday inspected the progress of construction work of Rani Jhansi grade separator and was assured that the project would be completed by November this year.
According to a statement by Raj Niwas, the L-G, who visited the site for the fourth time, said that landscaping work under the Rani Jhansi flyover and the provision of a multi-level stack parking facility nearby would also be taken up simultaneously with the construction of the grade separator.
Mr. Baijal was accompanied by Raajiv Yaduvanshi, principal secretary (Urban Development), Delhi, Madhup Vyas, commissioner, North Delhi Municipal Corporation, Keshav Chandra, CEO, Delhi Jal Board, Railway authorities and officers concerned from other agencies.

Meets stakeholders
“The L-G chaired a meeting with all stakeholders to assess the current progress and status of the work at the project site office at DCM Chowk. North Corporation commissioner apprised the meeting that issues which were hindering the project till now was resolved,” the statement said further.
“The Railways officials assured that railway work will be completed by October, 2017 in all respects. DJB CEO informed the L-G that work related to the DJB pipelines was completed,” the statement added.

Mr. Vyas informed the L-G that work was on in full flow and would be completed by November 30, 2017, and there would be no further revision of this deadline.
The L-G, according to Raj Niwas, also instructed Mr. Vyas to undertake the landscaping and beautification of the space under the flyovers, simultaneously.
He also stressed that the drainage system and lighting work of the flyover be expedited as to complete the entire work in a time-bound manner.
“Mr. Baijal also asked the North Corporation commissioner to focus upon the possibility of creating a multi-level stack parking near the flyover to resolve the perennial need of adequate parking spaces and to also ensure that areas which have been recovered from encroachment are not re-encroached at any cost,” said a senior government official.
Parking of vehicles
During the visit, according to the official, the L-G also observed that a number of old or unused vehicles had been parked around the site and directed the North Corporation and the Delhi Police to remove all such vehicles from the site at the earliest.
He further issued instructions that it will be ensured that no garbage was dumped at the construction site and cleanliness was maintained.
“The L-G emphasised that this is a major project of north Delhi, and the commissioning of this flyover would benefit commuters of Delhi. All the agencies were instructed to put in their best in this final phase of construction work,” Raj Niwas statement said.
