Former Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, whose hunger strike against the alleged corruption in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) entered the third day, has been advised hospitalisation by a team of doctors, after his blood sugar levels and blood pressure dropped drastically.
The rebel leader started his indefinite strike on Tuesday, demanding that the AAP’s national convenor and Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should reveal the details of the foreign trips made by five of his ‘close aides’.
“His blood sugar level has dropped to 81mg/dL. In such a situation, intravenous fluids need to be started immediately. His pulse and blood pressure levels are also low. He is going into dehydration because of poor salt intake,” said Dr. Javed Salam Khan from Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital who led the team of doctors that examined Mr. Mishra on Friday.

Dr. Khan also said the MLA’s condition has been made worse by the hot and humid weather.
Mr. Mishra, however, said those were small hurdles compared to the “larger fight” that he had taken up. He said he would continue with the strike until the AAP gave answers to his questions.

In the evening, he visited the Mahatma Gandhi memorial in Rajghat. “I came here to seek answers from Bapu ,” Mr. Mishra said after meditating at the memorial for over 30 minutes with his wife.
Earlier in the day, the former Water and Tourism Minister released a letter from his mother and former Delhi Mayor, Annapoorna Mishra, to Mr Kejriwal. “How many lies, Arvind [Kejriwal]? How many?... Lies will not help you. Be afraid of God,” Ms Mishra wrote.
