Justice Gita Mittal set to take over as acting Chief Justice of Delhi HC

Chief Justice G. Rohini will retire on Thursday

With Delhi High Court Chief Justice G. Rohini retiring on Thursday, Justice Gita Mittal will take over as acting Chief Justice from April 14. A notification has been issued in this regard.

An alumna of Lady Irwin Higher Secondary School and Lady Shri Ram College, Justice Mittal holds a LLB degree from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University.

Appointed to HC in 2004

She was appointed Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court in 2004.

Her judicial pronouncements include judgments on compensation to riot victims, right to shelter for displaced persons, right to marriage of a woman member of the armed forces, among others. She has also been part of various court committees.
