Inter-State drug syndicate busted, 3 held

An inter-State drug syndicate has been busted and over 25 kg marijuana was seized from them, the police said on Friday.

Three persons, Rajeev Kumar (28), Sanjay Ram (25) and Anil (22), who used to run the syndicate under the garb of turmeric business, were arrested. “The arrest was made following a tip-off that the members of the syndicate would come to New Usmanpur with a consignment of marijuana,” said Ajit Kumar Singla, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime).

Sanjay and Anil were apprehended from New Usmanpur after a trap was laid for them and 25.6 kg marijuana was seized.

Rajeev, the mastermind, was also traced and arrested later that day.
