Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended its application dates for various courses to August 18, thanks to the heavy online traffic it was getting.

Rush in applications

“The last date of admission to the bachelor’s, master’s, diploma and post-graduate diploma programmes, including the semester-based programmes, at IGNOU for the 2017 session have been extended,” said Professor Sri Latha, registrar-in-charge of the student’s registration division.

The university cited rush in applications as the reason behind the extension in date.

‘Slow system response’

“Due to heavy traffic on the online admission server, the system response is slow. As a result, many candidates willing to apply are unable to do so,” said Dr. V. P. Rupam, who heads the E-support department at IGNOU.
