Accused allegedly tried to blackmail MP

The Delhi Police have recovered a digital video recorder and two SUVs, among other articles, from the house of the woman who allegedly tried to exort a BJP MP of ₹5 crore. The MP had said in his complaint that the woman had recorded obscene videos of him to blackmail him into giving her the money.

The police had, on Wednesday, raided the house of the woman and found spy cams fitted across all rooms. A senior police officer said they have recovered several visiting cards of high profile people, including politicians and bureaucrats. They also found a lot of viagra pills and condoms at her house, the police said.

“The recorder with 500 GB of memory has been seized and sent for examination. We suspect that the hard drive contains videos of several people,” said the official.

Special Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Mukesh Kumar Meena said they have contacted UP police to see if the woman has filed other cases against other people. “We have also asked police stations in Delhi for details of all rape cases filed by the woman. We are also examining details of her bank accounts,” he said. The police are also trying to identify if the woman has contacts with a criminal in UP who they suspect heads the extortion gang.
