A 20-year-old girl, who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances in Harsh Vihar here a month ago, managed to escape from the clutches of her abductors over the weekend and reach home. A mother-son duo has been arrested in this connection.
The girl, a resident of Harsh Vihar, was on her way to attend tuition classes on January 17 evening when she went missing under mysterious circumstances. Her parents reported the matter to the police and a missing complaint was registered. Her family told the police that they suspected the involvement of a young man staying in their neighbourhood. The boy, identified as Bobby, had gone missing since the incident came to light.
The mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the girl was unravelled when she returned home this past Sunday and told her parents about her ordeal. According to the girl, Bobby hit her on the head with a rod from behind while she was on her way to tuition classes and made her inhale some substance that rendered her unconscious. When she came to her senses, she found herself locked in a dark room. The girl purportedly told the police that two-three more girls were also kept locked in the room along with her and they were regularly given food mixed with sedatives.

“After escaping from the clutches of the abductors, the girl met a dairy owner in Loni and told him about her ordeal. The dairy owner then helped her contact her father and also informed the local police. Acting on the complaint of the girl, the local police mounted raids at several places but the girl could not identify the place where she was kept captive,” said a senior police officer.
The matter was then reported to the Delhi Police and Omwati and her Sonu were arrested based on the compliant of the girl that she was abducted at their behest. The prime accused, Bobby, is absconding.
