The Delhi Police have arrested four men for allegedly robbing the owner of mobile recharge agency of nearly ₹16 lakh in April. The accused, including a worker of the agency, were arrested on Thursday from south-west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar. The police have recovered ₹4.95 lakh and a pistol from them.
Manoj (22), Ashish (30), Deepak (31) and Ravi Kumar (29) allegedly robbed two of Jitender Saxena’s employees on April 15 while they were on the way to deposit ₹15.9 lakh in a bank near Sagarpur.
“Three armed assailants intercepted them at Subzi Mandi in Nasirpur and snatched the bag containing the money,” said DCP (south-west) Surender Kumar. CCTV footage from a roadside shop helped the police zero in on their bike’s registration number. The accused had decided to rob Mr. Saxena as they were in heavy debt.
