To ensure the safety of students, the university said that it has been conducting routine as well as surprise checks to ensure that there are no unauthorised guests living in the hostels. The university lashed out at certain sections of the JNU community for criticising such checks and calling them “raids”.
The university has also started a green-drive in which more than 600 sapplings have been planted with the help of the NSS and JNU alumni. To ensure that these sapplings are cared for, most of them have been adopted by residents of the campus.
