Open to Delhi applicants for 2 courses

Women applicants from Delhi seeking admissions to BA and BCom courses in Delhi University have the option of doing the same from the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB).

Explaining the concept of the NCWEB, the university said: “It is a unique system with lectures on Sundays, leaving students with six working days. In this neo-age of 100% cut-offs, classroom crunch and gender discrimination, the NCWEB is a welcome arrangement and the most satisfactory way to attain a degree from DU.”

Students are also encouraged to take part in skill-development programmes, organised in collaboration with the NSDC, which are placement linked.

“NCWEB has emerged as an important academic option for female students. It is now established in 26 UG and one PG centres, and has approximately 23,000 students,” the university stated.

“The 26 UG centres are run in various DU colleges and each teaching centre has 284 BA and 184 BCom seats,” the university said.

The percentage for cut-offs are decided on the basis of marks obtained in the best-of-four subjects in 10+2 but are usually significantly lower that cut-offs at regular colleges.
