DJB adds 54 colonies to supply network

June 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A total of 54 unauthorised colonies have been added to the piped water supply network in the past five months, the Delhi Jal Board said on Friday.

Water supply and pressure in 60 other unauthorised colonies and villages have also been improved. DJB officials said this was made possible by increasing the production of treated water, rationalising supply with the help of new underground reservoirs and improving efficiency.

As per a DJB statement, the Delhi Government has given the go-ahead for laying pipelines in 237 new colonies. The DJB reached the peak treatment output of 878 million gallons per day (MGD) recently.
