‘DIHM to become a full-fledged university’

To provide world-class courses in hospitality, says Sisodia

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday said that the Delhi Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (DIHM) will be converted into a full-fledged university.

Mr. Sisodia announced that the institute will be “converted into a university that shall provide high-quality world-class courses in hospitality and tourism”.

Growth and autonomy

He added that the institute will be converted to a State university to ensure growth and autonomy. “Dreams drive us and I urge all of you to continue your great work and dream for the best for your institute and students. I assure you all the support from our end to make this into a world-class University for the hospitality industry,” said Mr. Sisodia during a visit to the institute.

Further, he has directed departments concerned to enhance infrastructural facilities in the institute.

The Tourism Department has also been asked to draw up a proposal to provide special grants to the institute that will add to the revenue, apart from collection of fees.
