Delivery boy of online store held for theft

Delivery boy employed with the transportation service of an online shopping store has been arrested for allegedly stealing gadgets worth ₹7 lakh, police said on Tuesday.

DCP (IGIA) Sanjay Bhatia said that the accused has been identified as Sidhharth (25), a resident of Haryana’s Bahadurgarh. His associate Vinod is absconding, Mr Bhatia said.

Police said they received a complaint from the online store’s transportation service on Monday that their employee has stolen 15 high-end mobile phones, fire sticks, camera and tablets between loading and delivery on February 9 and 10 after which a case was registered. Siddharth was arrested with the help of technical and human surveillance. Mobile phones and tools used in commission of the crime have been recovered.
