Delhi University to open on July 21

Admissions still on under fifth list

Delhi University has assured students, teachers, and parents that teaching programmes for all courses will be ready and classes will begin on July 21 in all colleges.

“The university will reopen in full measure on July 21. Students and faculty are requested to report to their respective colleges to receive their various teaching and time table schedules. All processes required to enable this teaching schedule are being taken care of. In particular, the committee of courses of each department has already met to prescribe the teaching programme for the students of all disciplines for the first, second and third year of the undergraduate programmes,” said a statement from the university Registrar.

Meanwhile, some colleges were still taking in students under the fifth cut-off list on Monday. Hindu College, Hans Raj College and Kirori Mal College had many of its courses still open in all streams while Ramjas College had re-opened admissions to its B.Com. course. Miranda House had its BA (programme) still open. Lady Shri Ram and Kamala Nehru College had closed all their admissions for the general categories but said they might come out with a sixth list if there are withdrawals.

The colleges are allowed to have eight cut-off lists and admissions are allowed to continue till July 31.
