The Delhi Development Authority on Wednesday held a public hearing on the objections and suggestions put forth by residents and traders of the Capital pertaining to the proposed amendments to the Master Plan of Delhi-2021.
“Most of the objections were regarding parking issues. However, some residents also said that bar-cum-restaurants should not be allowed in residential areas,” said a senior DDA official. Traders from Rajouri Garden urged immediate notification of 351 roads for commercial use.
“All the objections and suggestions were recorded by the board and those present were assured that their grievances will be taken care of before taking a decision. The hearing has been extended till the first half of June 14,” said the official.

In February, the DDA had approved proposed amendments to MPD-2021 that included uniform Floor Area Ratio for both residential and commercial plots. The FAR is the ratio of a building’s total floor area (gross floor area) to the size of the piece of land upon which it is built.
The DDA received 800 objections and suggestions to the proposed amendments and is holding hearings to take into account oral submissions made by traders and residents.
