Congress leaders on Sunday said the Kejriwal government has failed to fulfil most of the poll promises made before the Assembly elections early this year.
A week before 100 days of AAP government in office, former Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh, former Delhi Minister Haroon Yusuf and candidate from Kirari constituency in last election Pratyush Kanth said the Aam Aadmi Party was busy fighting over transfer and postings of officers rather than solving people’s problems.
“When the Congress was in power here and I was the Urban Development Minister, we had sanctioned several development projects for Kirari, including construction of new roads. But Mr. Kejriwal is spending all his energy on transfer and postings in Delhi rather than doing developmental work,” Mr. Singh said at a public meeting at Kirari in North-West Delhi on Sunday.

The public meeting, attended by more than 5,000 people, was called against huge penalties being slapped on the poor people of Kirari for water connection. Hundreds of people put across their demands for old age pension. The huge lines in the ration shops of Kirari and corruption in the ration office was a big issue in this meeting.
“The immediate needs of this area, which house a large number of poor immigrants, include schools, primary health centres, a post office, a petrol pump and clean drinking water. But the government is doing nothing about it. The presence of water mafia and the political patronage it is getting in Kirari is being completely overlooked by the authorities,” Mr. Kanth said.
Mr. Yusuf criticised the ruling BJP in the Centre for petrol and diesel price hike. “But come what may, the Congress is always standing by you in your fight for basic amenities against the Central government and the State government,” Mr. Yusuf said.
