‘CM has breached trust of Delhiites’

Kejriwal has attended office only 15 days since Feb, says Gupta

Instead of compensating for the loss of “valuable time” during his recently concluded sit-in protest at Raj Niwas, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Vijender Gupta alleged on Wednesday that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had breached the trust of the citizens of Delhi again by proceeding on leave.

“Mr. Kejriwal has bid goodbye to Delhiites and their burning problems for 15 days as he is proceeding on holidays to Bengaluru when the people were expecting that their CM will now get down to business,” Mr. Gupta alleged.

According to him, Mr. Kejriwal, during the last four and half months, attended office for 15 days; these, Mr. Gupta alleged, included being at the office for one day during February, nine days during March and five days during May.

Absent from office

“He did not attend office even for a day in April and June. His name must find mention in Limca Book of Records for remaining absent from office for the longest duration as Chief Minister,” Mr. Gupta alleged.

Mr. Gupta said that Mr. Kejriwal is famous for staying away from the Legislative Assembly. Even during the last four-day session in June, he did not attend it for three days. He came for a short duration only on the last day.

Accusing Mr. Kejriwal of cheating and breaching the trust of the citizens of Delhi, the leader, further, accused him saying the timing of the lifting of his dharna and proceeding on leave, the Rohini legislator alleged in a statement, were in “perfect unison”.

“I appreciate Kejriwal’s perfect sense of timing. His strategy of lifting the dharna now stands exposed. It was for no other reason than to proceed on holidays. The other reasons forwarded were just excuses,” he alleged.
