The Delhi Police on Saturday registered two FIRs in connection with a case where AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan allegedly beat up a social worker associated with the Congress.

Faizan Sarkar alleged that he was beaten up by Mr. Khan and 15-20 other persons around 3 p.m. when he was walking back home from Batla House. “I was crossing the road and was hit by a car. The person came out and started shouting. Then Mr. Khan came along with his workers and hit me,” he alleged.

Mr. Sarkar alleged that Mr. Khan has been at loggerheads with him because he has protested against him on several occasions.

“One FIR on statement of Sarkar against some men, including Mr. Khan, for beating and wrongful restraint, and another FIR on statement of Yaser against Sarkar for beating and wrongful restraint has also been registered,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal.
