Mr. Chautala along with his son Ajay Chautala is serving 10 years’ imprisonment in the primary teacher’s selection scam case in Haryana in 1999.

The Court had earlier this month granted three weeks’ interim bail to attend the last rites of his brother Pratap Singh.

The Court asked the investigating agency to file a reply to the fresh petition by June 23, the next date of hearing.

Counsel for the probe agency opposed Mr. Chautala’s plea arguing that his health conditions should be checked at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment

The trial court had last year sentenced the father-son duo to ten years’ imprisonment each. Fifty-three other accused were also held guilty and sentenced by the trial court in the case.
