The Delhi Metro Rail Police have registered a case against unknown persons under the Information Technology Act in connection with the reported leak of objectionable video clips made on metro premises to various websites.
“We have registered a case and initiated investigations to ascertain the identity of those involved in making and circulating the video clips. So far, we have traced only two such clips. According to unconfirmed reports, about 200 such clips were made on metro premises. The one reported in the media appears to have been uploaded over a year ago. At this stage, we cannot say with certainty whether it was the handiwork of some organised gang,” said a police officer.
The case has been registered at the Kalkaji metro police station.

“A police officer with expertise in cyber crime investigations has been roped in,” the officer added.
They will soon contact the Internet service providers to trace the origin of the video clips that were uploaded onto various websites.
“Once the terminals from where the clips were uploaded are identified, it will be much easier for us to track down the culprits.”

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had on Tuesday said that a thorough inquiry had been initiated into reports of circulation of objectionable video clips to international porn websites.
For its part, the Central Industrial Security Force had distanced itself from the controversy stating that its personnel had no role to play and that it had no access or control over the database in which the footage of closed-circuit television cameras, installed inside metro trains, is stored.
